Unlike a conventional analogue vacuum gauge, the REF-VAC provides a direct digital vacuum reading, helping technicians monitor the evacuation process and determine when the refrigeration system has reached the required vacuum level.
Simply running a vacuum pump for a fixed amount of time does not confirm that the system has achieved a sufficiently deep vacuum. Measuring the actual vacuum level gives the technician much better information during commissioning and servicing.

For a more representative system reading, REFCO recommends that the vacuum gauge be connected away from the vacuum pump where practical. A deep vacuum measured directly beside the pump does not necessarily mean the same vacuum has already been achieved throughout the complete refrigeration system.
