Copeland Check Valve (Emerson Alco)

Copeland Emerson ALCO ACK Series Refrigeration Check Valve

Normally closed magnetic check valves designed to maintain one-way refrigerant flow and help prevent reverse refrigerant movement in commercial refrigeration, air-conditioning, liquid-line and compressor discharge applications.

ACK Series 1/4" – 2-5/8" ODF Magnetic Check Valve Normally Closed Copper Construction

Reliable One-Way Refrigerant Flow Protection

The Copeland Emerson ALCO ACK Series Check Valve is a normally closed magnetic refrigeration check valve designed to allow refrigerant to travel in the required direction while helping prevent unwanted reverse flow.

The ACK Series is available in copper ODF connection sizes from 1/4" up to 2-5/8", making the range suitable for small refrigeration circuits through to larger commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

How Does an ACK Check Valve Work?

1. Forward Pressure Refrigerant pressure increases on the inlet side of the valve.
2. Valve Opens Sufficient forward pressure differential causes the internal check mechanism to open.
3. Refrigerant Passes Refrigerant flows through the valve in the intended direction.
4. Reverse Flow Is Prevented If system pressure attempts to reverse refrigerant direction, the magnetic checking action helps close the valve.

Why Use a Refrigeration Check Valve?

Pressure differences can occur in refrigeration systems when compressors start or stop, during defrost operation or when multiple refrigeration circuits operate at different pressures.

A properly selected ACK check valve can help:

✓ Maintain refrigerant flow in the intended direction
✓ Prevent unwanted reverse refrigerant movement
✓ Reduce refrigerant migration between circuits
✓ Support compressor discharge piping arrangements
✓ Improve control in parallel-compressor systems
✓ Protect liquid-line refrigeration circuits

Typical Applications

❄ Cold Rooms
🧊 Freezer Rooms
🏪 Commercial Refrigeration
🏭 Refrigeration Rack Systems
⚙ Compressor Discharge Lines
💧 Liquid Refrigerant Lines
🏢 HVAC Systems
🛒 Supermarket Refrigeration

How to Select the Correct ACK Model

1. Connection Size Match the ACK ODF connection to the refrigeration pipe size.
2. Refrigerant Confirm the refrigerant and operating conditions of the system.
3. System Capacity Check the refrigeration capacity and required refrigerant flow.
4. Pressure Drop Choose a valve with sufficient Cv and acceptable pressure drop.
5. Line Application Confirm whether the valve is being used in a liquid line, discharge line or another approved refrigeration circuit.
6. Part Number Verify the full Copeland part number before replacement.
