Muller WRC Series air-cooled condensers
Twenty-eight commercial condenser models built around a floating coil that moves with the heat instead of cracking under it. Top or side airflow, 800 mm fans, and heat rejection from 177 kW to 552 kW.
Supplied, selected and serviced in Malaysia by RNA Engineering & Trading Sdn. Bhd.
Built for rooftops that never cool down
The WRC series is a commercial remote condenser for supermarkets, cold storage and food service plant. It pairs a large-diameter 800 mm fan with a deep grooved-tube coil, so it moves the heat you need without spinning fast enough to become a noise complaint. Every model is available in a standard or low-noise fan configuration and can be installed for either top or side discharge.
Patented floating coil
The coil expands and contracts independently of the casing. Thermal movement never loads the tube joints, which is where rooftop condenser leaks normally begin.
Grooved tube coil
Internally grooved tubes increase the wetted surface and break up the refrigerant film, raising heat transfer for the same face area.
Two-speed motors
External rotor three-phase motors with built-in thermal protection and an integral header protection shield. Drop to low speed at night or in cool ambient and cut fan power by roughly 40 percent.
IP54 control panel
Fans arrive pre-wired to a weatherproof IP54 cabinet, so site work is a supply cable and a control signal rather than a wiring exercise.
Top or side airflow
The same model can discharge upward on Euro legs or horizontally against a wall. Units can also be banked side by side for larger duties.
Galvanised steel casing
Galvanised steel plain sheet as standard, with optional blue-fin coated coils for coastal and high-humidity sites.
How to read a WRC model number
Nominal capacity is stated at 0 K sub-cooling, 32 °C ambient, 50 °C condensing and 100 °C suction temperature on R404A.

Supply is 380 V / 3 phase throughout. Listed power and current are the maximum values the external rotor motor may draw; actual figures vary with supply voltage, condenser layout and fin cleanliness but will not exceed these. Duty at 18 K is the R404A high-speed figure multiplied by an 18 K condensing temperature difference, given as an indication only.

Wider fin spacing at 10 or 9 FPI is worth specifying for dusty sites, bakeries and anywhere the coil cannot be washed often. Blue-fin coating is the usual choice for coastal installations. If you need an accessory that is not listed here, ask RNA and we will check it with the factory.
Selecting the right model
Published capacity is stated in watts per kelvin, so it scales directly with the condensing temperature difference you design for. Before comparing that figure against your duty, correct it for site conditions.

Worked example
- Duty required: 300 kW heat rejection on R404A at a 15 K condensing temperature difference.
- Capacity needed in W/K: 300,000 ÷ 15 = 20,000 W/K.
- Site is Selangor at 35 °C ambient and near sea level, 4 K sub-cooling, aluminium fins. K1 = 1.003, K2 = 1.00, K3 = 0.986, K4 = 1.00.
- Corrected requirement: 1.00 ÷ (1.003 × 0.986 × 1.00) × 20,000 = 20,229 W/K.
- Standard range: WRC225 at 22,470 W/K clears it with margin. Low-noise range: WRC240LN at 19,790 W/K is marginally short, so step up to WRC247LN or WRC297LN.
The KTD in these tables is the saturated liquid temperature at the condenser outlet minus the inlet air temperature. Capacity figures assume all fans are running. Send us your duty, refrigerant and site conditions and we will run the selection for you.
Where the WRC series is used
Supermarkets and hypermarkets
Remote condensers for medium and low temperature packs, where roof space is shared with tenants and plant noise is regulated.
Cold storage and distribution
High ambient duty for chilled and frozen chambers, blast rooms and loading docks, with wider fin spacing available for dusty yards.
Food service and central kitchens
Compact two and three fan models for restaurant, hotel and catering plant rooms where the condenser sits close to occupied areas.
Process and industrial cooling
Multiple units banked side by side for larger process loads, using the same coil block and control approach across the plant.
Common questions
What does the floating coil design actually do?
The coil is allowed to expand and contract independently of the casing. Thermal movement is absorbed by the mounting instead of being transferred into the tube joints, which is where coil leaks normally start on a rooftop condenser. The result is a longer coil service life and fewer refrigerant losses over the life of the plant.
Standard or low noise — which should I specify?
Standard models run at 880 rpm high speed and 660 rpm low speed. LN models run at 680 rpm and 530 rpm and are roughly 6 to 7 dB(A) quieter in sound power. The trade-off is airflow: an LN model of the same size rejects less heat, so for a given duty you generally step up one or two model sizes. Where the condenser sits near residential boundaries or hotel rooms, the LN range is usually the cheaper answer once acoustic treatment is priced in.
Which refrigerants are covered?
Published capacity data covers R404A and R22. R404A is the rating basis. For other refrigerants, or for the KRC range which also publishes R134a and R410A data, contact RNA and we will confirm the selection with the factory.
Can units be installed side by side?
Yes. Multiple units can be banked in parallel, and a two-bank condenser is available as a factory option. Maintain the manufacturer's minimum clearance around each unit so that discharge air is not drawn back into the coil, which is the most common cause of high head pressure on a correctly sized condenser.
What is included as standard on delivery?
Galvanised steel casing, aluminium fins at 12 FPI, Ziehl-Abegg two-speed external rotor motors with built-in thermal protection, factory fan wiring, and an IP54 electrical cabinet. Blue-fin coating, EC motors, wider fin spacing and two-bank arrangements are ordered as options.
